How long does a typical window or door installation take?
A single window or door replacement usually takes one to three hours. A full home window replacement can be completed in one to two days depending on the number of units and the complexity of the installation.
Do I need a permit to replace my windows or doors?
In most cases, like-for-like replacements do not require a permit in Los Angeles County. However, if you are changing the size of an opening, adding a new window or door, or making structural changes, a permit will likely be required. We know the local requirements across all the cities we serve and will advise you upfront.
What is the difference between replacement windows and new construction windows?
Replacement windows are installed into your existing frame opening without disturbing the surrounding wall or trim. New construction windows include a nailing fin that integrates into the wall framing and are used for new builds, full remodels with open walls, or when the existing frames are damaged. We assess your situation during the estimate and recommend the right approach.

How do I know when it is time to replace my windows?
Common signs include drafts near the frame, condensation between the glass panes, difficulty opening or closing, visible frame damage or rot, windows that no longer lock properly, or rising energy bills. If you are noticing any of these, it is worth getting an assessment.
What is a low-E glass coating and do I need it?
Low-E stands for low emissivity. It is a microscopic coating on the glass that reflects heat and blocks UV rays without affecting your view. In Southern California it helps keep your home cooler in summer by reducing heat gain through the glass. For most homes in our service area we recommend it.

Do you handle the permit process if one is required?
Yes. When a permit is required for a project we coordinate the permit process as part of the job so you do not have to navigate it on your own.

Every product we install comes backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand and product line and we will walk you through what is covered for your specific product before you commit.
